Dr. McMahon provides comprehensive care for shoulder and elbow problems and treatment for basic knee injuries. He founded McMahon Orthopedics & Rehabilitation in 2006 after serving 12 years in academic medicine at UPMC and the University of California, Irvine, where he was the Director of Sports Medicine.

A Castle Connelly Top Doc, US News and World Report Top Doc, Best Doctors in America by Best Doctors Inc and Pittsburgh Magazine Top Doc, he was also awarded membership in Phi Beta Kappa and the prestigious Society of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr McMahon continues his research improving the diagnosis and treatment of common shoulder and knee problems.
Dr. Patrick McMahon graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1987. Dr. McMahon completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA from 1988 to 1993. Dr. McMahon has two offices in Pennsylvania.
Specializing in the field of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. McMahon is prepared to treat a wide range of injuries to the musculoskeletal system, which includes the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons, in either a non-surgical or surgical manner, resorting to surgery when all other treatment methods have been exhausted or ruled out. Additionally, Dr. McMahon is trained to diagnose a range of musculoskeletal conditions, such as fractures or sprains.
